I enjoyed this story. It reminded me of a time in my life when I couldn't even afford thrift furniture. All I had were blow up pillows. You really learn to appreciate simplicity.

Yes! And also, in this case, as a child you couldn't help your economic class. So writing honestly about childhood poverty is not victimhood. It's just reality. Right?
